All workshops are now available directly to parents and teachers during school closures.

For the past 8 years, The Drama Hut have been a leading primary school workshop provider, supporting teachers and encouraging creative learning. With the closure of schools due to COVID19, we remain committed to providing an outlet for children to feel connected and creative. With this in mind, we have adapted and timetabled a selection of our curriculum-based workshops which children can access directly from home, using laptops, iPads or mobile phones, supporting parents and teachers and continuing to inspire and engage children in a fun and creative way.

Workshops are facilitated by professional actors, last approximately 50 minutes and take place every Tuesday and Thursday at 2pm. As with our standard workshops, they incorporate a combination of improvisation, storytelling, song and movement and finish with a short quiz and suggested further activities. Prior to the workshop you will receive via email a short pre-recorded video, introducing a character and topic.  A selection of these can be found below. They should be viewed prior to the scheduled sessions and will include a little bit of optional ‘prep work’  to further encourage engagement. The workshops are live streamed using Zoom and are fully interactive.  There will be options for your child to participate with video and audio turned on or off, depending on your preference. Please read our Policy and Safeguarding document, including FAQ’s, for further information here.

For Teachers

We have already begun taking bookings for our workshops through teachers and have had tremendous feedback.

“Exploring the Stone Age led by the archaeologist (Sally Spade). They  thoroughly enjoyed getting into character, dressing up and creating caves/dens. The live interaction was managed really well and the children felt they were very much part of the lesson.”

“The Drama Hut were excellent in adapting the session to children learning at home during lockdown. Organiser and actor were professional, full of ideas and very responsive to requests and suggestions. Highly recommended.” Yr 2 Hamstead Hill School May 2020

In recognising there is no ‘one shoe fits all’ approach to online learning, we propose to work with every school individually, to determine the best method of delivery for you, whether that means using our own online programme or being invited as a ‘guest speaker’ on your school’s preferred media platform. Be assured that we will remain flexible and open, recognising the strain schools are currently under, our primary aim to ensure your children receive the best experience possible, taking into account safety, well being and progress.

All of our workshops will continue to be available to classes of up to 30 children at a time and for this period of adjustment, we will be offering our workshops at special introductory price of £100 per session.   For further information please contact us by email.

If you are interested in discussing the possibility of having a workshop delivered remotely to your class, year group or whole school this term, please get in touch by emailing
