This is a fun workshop designed to help children make the most of their voice and increase confidence when public speaking. We look at how the voice can be used when we are required to ‘perform’, be that in a school assembly, reciting a poem in class, or simply getting your point across during discussion. The session concludes with an ensemble performance, when the children get the opportunity to put what they have learnt into practise.
During the session:
- We explore the voice in relation to the whole body: breathing, anchoring, resonance and articulation
- Discover how the voice works: experimenting with how to create and control sound
- The children are encouraged to enjoy their voice and take charge of the space they are working in
- We work in groups and individually, with classic text and through improvisation
Drama Hut have worked with our school on many occasions. Each time, the workshops have been well planned out- with teachers ideas in mind, well executed by very enthusiastic practitioners and have been thoroughly enjoyed by all children! Each workshop has engaged the children enormously, using original ideas that involve the children through practical games and activities. I would recommend this drama company to all schools.
