Meet Edith Johnson, Mother of 5 and travel with her to London 1914 and discover how the First World War would change ordinary lives, forever.
During the workshop, the children will:
- Explore the reasons young men and woman were so keen to join up and support their country.
- Learn a song from the period and look at what purpose it may have served.
- Begin to investigate what life might have been like in the trenches.
With the use of a poem, a letter from Edith to her son fighting at the front, the children will dramatically create their own story.
Drama Hut have worked with our school on many occasions. Each time, the workshops have been well planned out- with teachers ideas in mind, well executed by very enthusiastic practitioners and have been thoroughly enjoyed by all children! Each workshop has engaged the children enormously, using original ideas that involve the children through practical games and activities. I would recommend this drama company to all schools.
