Anglo Saxons and Vikings

Join ‘Astrid The Elegant’ in a famous Viking Longboat, and journey from Scandinavia to Northumbria, Anglo Saxon England, to start a new life!

This workshop can have an emphasis on either The Vikings or The Anglo Saxons, depending on your curriculum needs.

During this workshop, the children will:

Create dramatic pictures in order to explore Viking and Anglo Saxon life
Through improvisation set sail in a Viking longboat and discover why the Vikings came to our shores
Play ‘Guess the God’ to look at the role of religion in both Anglo Saxon and The Viking life
Recreate the story of ‘Thor’s Hammer’ or ‘Beowulf’ to learn how stories and riddles were used to educate children
