Join Pirate Penny for a boat load of fun! During their exploration of a Pirate’s life on the high seas, Penny will put the children to work, scrubbing the decks, firing the cannons, hunting for treasure and avoiding the plank! But do not fear, there will still be time to sing a sea shanty or two!

This Workshop is aimed at younger members of the school community. Through Improvisation, movement, song, poetry, and storytelling the children will:

  • Make pictures using their bodies to re-create a time of Pirates – including key words such as Maps, Treasure, and Ships

  • Learn about what it meant to be ‘a Pirate’ – what did they do and why did they do it

  • Place Pirates in a historical context

  • Explore life on the high seas and learn the names for the different parts of a ship

  • Sing a sea shanty

  • Discover a whole host of famous pirates and perform a poem about them

“The Drama Hut were amazing, very helpful and accommodating while we were making the arrangements for the workshop to take place. The actor who came was excellent with the children and kept them engaged at all times. She was very informative while also making the workshop fun and exciting. We will use The Drama Hut again for future workshops in our school.”
